Tips on Cutting Hair Short while Pregnant

Your life is changing and your role in this world is changing. But is it the right decision for your face shape? Take a look at what these moms did with their pre-baby hair and see if changing your 'do is a good -- or bad -- idea.

"I get a lot of clients that ask me if they should cut their hair short while they're pregnant. I'm always really hesitant to cut your hair short when you're pregnant. The reason is, your body is still changing. It's still evolving. Even if you've had a pregnancy before, there's no way to tell month to month what your face is going to look like. Even if you're really slim in your face, some of us tend to get a little wider in the face. So I would hold off until after you've had the baby and then make a decision about cutting your hair short.

A lot of women want to cut their hair short because it's hot or because they don't have the kind of dexterity to get up and style it as much. Some things that you could do instead would be maybe to cut a bang or get a more layered haircut, or cut something that looks cute pulled back or pulled up.

So just talk to your stylist about what your main concern is and why you want to cut your hair short. And your hairstylist should be able to help lead you in the right direction, whether you want to cut it shorter or whether you want to keep it a little bit longer. But just consider how your body is going to continuously change throughout your pregnancy and if that's the right step for you."
