How to Eat When You're Pregnant?

In the last two trimesters, you'll need to eat about 300 calories more per day. For the average woman, this means about 21 to 2500 calories per day. Overall, these calories should consist of high-protein, high-iron, and high-calcium.

You want to be eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, dairy products, and protein. You can include some fat, and drink at least 2 quarts of liquid per day.

Even though you may have cravings, you want to avoid sugary snacks and high-calorie foods like chips and soft drinks.

If you are carrying two or more babies, your body needs more calories and more nutrients. Speak to your care provider for specific recommendations for you.
