A Visual Guide: How to Wind Your Baby?

Winding is an important part of feeding your baby, as they are unable to burp without help. Watch this short video from Aptaclub for a step-by-step guide on how to wind your baby.

From over the shoulder to lying across your lap, there are several positions for winding your baby that you can try – one of which should work for you both. Here are 3 positions which may help:

1 - Hold baby flat to front to stretch spine and expand stomach (Gently rub back)

2 - Lean baby forward with straight back (Gently rub back whilst supporting head)

3 - Lay baby across knees and support neck (Gently rub back)

- Use a muslin cloth for all positions

- As your baby may burp when air is released

- And some milk may come back up

- If you have any concerns about winding or feeding, consult your healthcare professional
