Diaphragmatic Breathing in Pregnancy

Breathing is the essence of life yet we do it without being aware of it. Many forms of exercise such as yoga and karate understand the importance of breathing. It helps calm the mind and can even make excessive pain tolerable. 

Your pelvic floor is connect to your diaphragm through fascia and muscle. How you breathe will affect how well your pelvic floor will function. The second of three videos in this series about posture, breathing and pelvic floor.

Why is diaphragmatic breathing important?
Proper function of the primary breathing muscle, the diaphragm, is absolutely critical for appropriate core function. The diaphragm is the most important muscle in the body for multiple reasons, not least of which is that its weakness is often the key underlying muscle imbalance that causes all other muscle imbalances.
